Why Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis don't want a nanny

New father Ashton Kutcher has revealed why he and fiancée Mila Kunis don't want a nanny for their daughter Wyatt Isabelle. The actor appeared on The Ellen Show to praise Mila and talk about the importance of being a hands-on parent. "We just want to know our kid," he said. "We want to be the people that know what to do when the baby's crying to make the baby not cry anymore. We want to know, like, when she makes a little face or something, we want to be emotionally in touch with her. And I think the only way to do that is by being the one who's there."

Ashton also joked that he was "ready to do all these things" with his daughter after she was born, only to realise she wasn't able to do them yet. "It's like getting a new cell phone where all the features don't work yet. It's like a phone that won't take pictures, and you're like, 'Why won't my phone take pictures?' and it won't make calls and it doesn't do a lot, but it looks really cute." The 36-year-old also revealed what has surprised him most about fatherhood. "You think you know how much you can love another person, and then you have a child and you realise you didn’t know. It's infinitely rewarding" he said.

Ashton's talk show appearance comes just days after Mila appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson to discuss how she is relishing her new role of motherhood. While making her appearance, the 31-year-old also joked that she would leave Ashton to take charge when Wyatt is a teenager. "That's not my problem. That's daddy's problem!" she laughed.
