In November 2014 Charlotte spoke for the first time about her pregnancy joy in an exclusive interview with the magazine. The 39-year-old revealed that she and Mark were on the verge of pursuing IVF treatment, having been trying for a baby for several years, when she found out that they were expecting. "It took a long while for it to sink in that I was pregnant because we'd been trying for quite some time – years, in fact," said Charlotte. "We'd got to the stage where we'd started to think, 'Is this ever going to happen for us?' We'd actually just gone through the paperwork to go down the IVF route as we thought it might be the only option left for us – and even now there's a big part of me that won't quite believe it until I have my baby safely in my arms."

Mark, who tied the knot with Charlotte in 2008, told HELLO! that he shed a tear when he found out his wife was pregnant. "It was a very strange moment," he said. "I don't mind admitting I shed a tear – it took a long time for it to happen and it was a huge relief."

Charlotte's Good Morning Britain co-hosts, Susanna Reid, Ben Shepard and Sean Fletcher, were delighted to hear of her pregnancy joy. "They were so thrilled at work, particularly because it's the first Good Morning Britain baby," said Charlotte. "All the team have been brilliant – and of course they're all parents so they've been giving me lots of advice." Looking back to when she announced the news in August, Charlotte said: "I remember the next day I went in and Susanna [Reid] had already got me a baby book as a present, and Ben [Shephard] couldn't stop hugging me."
