Jaime Winstone is expecting her first child and she seems to be enjoying every minute of it. Speaking to Lorraine on Friday, the actress said that being pregnant was a "super magical time" and that she and her partner James Suckling were hoping for a baby boy.

But it's not just the couple who are excited about the new arrival. Jaime's dad, actor Ray Winstone "can't wait" to meet his first grandchild.

"He just can't wait. We're hoping for a little boy maybe but we don't know. They are super excited, we all are. It's a massive blessing," said Jaime, whose baby is due in February.

The 30-year-old added, "I feel great. It's a nice stage in my life. I'm 30 and was starting to think about taking my career in a bit more of a serious direction but weirdly it planned out to be exactly what I wanted. It's great."

Jaime appeared on Lorraine to promote her new sitcom, After Hours and revealed how she took inspiration from her sister for her new role. "My character has a band called Bad Weekends, a real indie band, it's kind of strange and very surreal really. My sister is a musician - a great one at that - and I loosely took from Lois, my sister, and based it on her, although it's nothing like her, Lois is a lot more rock and roll. It was a real experience."

The new show, which airs on Sky1 Sitcom, sees the mum-to-be singing, something she said she really enjoyed.

"At first I was kind of really nervous, but then once I got into it and it felt like Lauren [her character] was singing and not Jaime. It was fine. Usually you get asked to sing and you go bright red, it’s not your territory, but I really enjoyed it actually. It was a bit of an out-of-body experience."

She jokingly added, "Maybe I am in the wrong game!"
