Lucy Liu had more than one reason to smile on Wednesday; not only was it her birthday, but she was celebrating with her adorable son Rockwell for the first time. "When it's your birthday and you're feeling…" Lucy captioned the image of her smiling son.

Lucy shared another sweet photo of baby Rockwell on her birthday

Lucy welcomed her new arrival in August, and despite being keen to keep her personal life private, it appears she can't help but occasionally show off her bundle of joy on social media. The Elementary actress previously gave followers an up-close glimpse at Rockwell with another smiley photo in November showing him smiling while lying down with his teddy bear.

A representative announced in August that Lucy's son Rockwell Lloyd Liu was bought into the world with the help of a gestational surrogate - ie a surrogate who carries the child for the biological parents and is not genetically related to it. Lucy, 47, later proudly showed off her newborn in a sweet black-and-white photo.

"Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In love!" Lucy wrote alongside the image of her cradling her bundle of joy. The actress also posted another photo of her son and thanked fans for their best wishes, writing: "Rockwell and I so appreciate all your warm wishes!"
