Sam Faiers and baby Paul make a splash at his first swimming lesson

Being a mum is made of lots of special moments and Sam Faiers just experienced a new one - baby's first swimming lesson. The mother-of-one took her six-week-old son for his first ever dip on Wednesday and both mum and baby looked overjoyed.

The former TOWIE star shared the sweet snap showing her and her baby in a swimming pool. "Today we took baby Paul for his first swimming lesson...he loves the water... X," she captioned the photo.

Baby Paul had his first ever swimming lesson

The doting mum and boyfriend Paul Knightley have been smitten with their little boy since his birth on 29 December and it seems the bouncing boy is a natural in the water.

All of Sam's family have fallen in love with baby Paul, including sister Billie Faiers. The reality TV star recently enjoyed a break in the Maldives with her partner Greg Shepherd and their 17-month-old daughter Nelly. But she was quick to check in with her nephew as soon as she touched down in their hometown of Essex.

Billie shared an adorable photo of her nephew sleeping in her daughter's cot. "Looks who's taking a nap in Nelly's cot ...our little baby Paul .. @samanthafaiers1 xxx," she wrote alongside the snap.

The sisters often share cute photos of their kids but more recently, Sam has taken to social media to defend boyfriend Paul. Her beau received criticism when their show The Baby Diaries aired, with critics claiming that Paul and his mother shared a "strange" relationship.

Sam defended her boyfriend Paul from critics

Sam was quick to defend Paul by posting a photo of him and baby Paul asleep together. "wow Paul really is getting some stick. I wish people wouldn't look into it so much. It's just a tv show edited & made for good viewing," she wrote.

"Yes he fell asleep reading baby books, didn't attend yoga & no he doesn't cook but he is the most caring loving man I know. & the best daddy to baby Paul. Also I'd like to add... This is then man who got me better from Crohn's disease. Months of studying and researching to find me alternative natural medication. He's my hero . xxx," she added.
