She got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday afternoon in Los Angeles California but Kate Winslet was pumping breast milk during an earthquake just hours before. The British star experienced a 4.7 magnitude rumble while she was trying to relieve herself of her infant’s food, because he wasn’t around on the trip for feeding.Despite it being the only time she’s felt the earth move, the Titanic star handled the alarming moment very well and even continued to chat on the phone with husband Ned Rocknroll.

Kate Winslet admits she continued to pump breast milk during an earthquake

“I’ve never been in an earthquake. No, never. And so it’s 6.20 am something or other and I’m sitting in the hotel here in LA and I’m pumping because I have a 14-week-old baby,” Kate said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, due to air in the US on Tuesday. “I’m here for 48 hours I couldn’t bring him. It’s too far. It’s a 12-hour plane ride.

And so I’m pumping, staring at my beautiful picture of my beautiful baby boy and my husband is on the other line and the room starts to shake. ”The star reassured her family that she was fine as she headed to safety but never stopped her parenting duties, proving she’s quite the multi-tasker.  So, I said I’ve got to go. I got to call you back. Hung up, ran into the doorframe with my friend who was with me and she’s like it’s an earthquake,” Kate continued. “Don’t worry [sound of pump] it’s passing see it’s passing it’s gonna pass [sound of pump] see it’s passing, see it’s almost gone. Breathe, it’s fine [sound of pump]. I just carried on pumping through the whole entire thing.”

Kate also shared that she named her child after the experience she had meeting her spouse, who is Richard Branson’s nephew. She saved his grandmother from a house fire when she was staying on Necker Island in August 2011 and the other part of the moniker was inspired by a friend.“Bear’s second name is Blaze because my husband and I met in a house fire basically,” she explained. “The house burned down and we survived,' said Kate. 'But we wanted something of the fire and so Blaze was the name that we came up with. Bear Blaze.”
