Nails hands and feet: How to do a good manicure

08 MAY 2008

Not of all of have the time or the spare cash to spend on regular manicures, but there is a simple tip that will give your fingers the look of a professional job – and get rid of the clumsy edges that make nail varnish look less than perfect.

Edge the nail varnish brush gently down towards the cuticle, but stop about one or two millimetres away. It's what professional manicurists do to ensure an even line that grows out neatly and it means varnish doesn't cling to the cuticle for a messy finish that looks rough once the nail starts to grow. Don't forget to wipe the brush over the edge of the nail tip, too, to reduce chipping and for a professional finish.
