Model Marie Helvin is backing new device STOP, which makes anti-ageing TriPollar™ technology available in the home for the first time

She may have had her heyday in the Seventies, but 56-year-old model Marie Helvin is still going strong and looking great. And that's despite seeming to rail against the celebrity obsession with cosmetic surgery.

“We are constantly driven to believe that women should look a set age or be a certain body size which is fuelling an obsession with ever more dramatic and invasive steps," she says.

And so she's backing the launch of an at-home treatment that claims to help combat the signs of ageing. STOP is the first to offer professional TriPollar™ technology in a home device. It's a sleek handheld gadget that works by focusing a low power beam deep into the dermis - much like a laser lens focuses its light – which then emits a radio frequency into the skin.

The result, it is claimed, is the tightening of collagen fibres and increased collagen production, which in turn should lead to the tightening of skin. Clinical tests with the device have apparently shown a 50 per cent increase in dermal thickening along with a 16 per cent decrease in fine lines and 35 per cent decrease in wrinkles over a three-and-a-half week period.

“With the migration of professional technology into a home device there is now a product that is effective in firming skin and boosting collagen renewal without a syringe or scalpel in sight,” Marie adds.

And Marie's comments are backed by Dr Leviav, head of plastic surgery at Kaplan University, Tel Aviv, who says: ”In conducting clinical trials using TriPollar™ technology we have seen significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles across a group of women aged 35 plus. By using this third generation radio wave, women can benefit from tighter, firmer skin.”

STOP is available exclusively through Selfridges and Harvey Nichols for £396. Visit www.stop-age.com for more details.
