We’re big fans here at hellomagazine.com of model and actor Jamie Dornan, the laidback and lovely Northern Irish lad who’s dated Keira Knightley, worked with Kate Moss and got up-close-and-very-personal with Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein’s recent ck underwear ad campaign.

Jamie’s also the face of ckfree, Calvin Klein’s latest fragrance, out this week, and we’ve got a sneak peak behind the scenes of the ad campaign with these shots from the set in the Silurian dry lake bed of Baker, California. The campaign was shot in January this year and was directed by Fabien Baron, creative director of ckfree as well as ck Jeans.

“Fabien’s amazing,” Jamie told us at the launch of ckfree. “His mind is incredible. He’s a creative director, a stylist, a photographer, he can kind of do it all. And he’s really fun at the same time and a joy to work with.”

Jamie said he likes working with Calvin Klein because “they’re good at just letting me by me and not turning me into something else. I didn’t have to change and a lot of guys that you see in campaigns have just been taken off and look like a puppet. It’s funny because modelling was never something I wanted to happen to me…” he mused.

The new scent is described as a warm woody aromatic, although we find it much fresher than it sounds. It has top notes of star anise, absinthe and juniper berry with a heart of tobacco leaves and coffee absolute with oakwood, cedarwood and patchouli absolute as its drydown. Eau de toilette spray starts at £27 for 30ml.
