Peter Andre battles Katie Price as they go head-to-head in the perfume wars

Named after a track from his album, the perfume has a top note of soft apricot, a heart of jasmine, patchouli and rose and a base of vanilla, musk and amber 

As with most of the products to which she’s licensed her name, Katie Price’s perfumes have become bestsellers.

But now she has real competition, appealing to exactly the same market. Because former husband Peter Andre has decided to launch his own scent. And unusually Pete is going directly up against his ex with a fragrance for women, rather than men.

According to The Perfume Shop, which has secured exclusive rights to sell Pete’s first ever fragrance until Christmas, it’s a guaranteed hit.

"There has already been an overwhelming demand for the fragrance via our website and switchboard ahead of the launch. It may well be the biggest seller of 2009," says head of sales Cathy Cornmell.

The fragrance has been named after one of the tracks, Unconditional, on Pete’s album and is a floral-musk eau de toilette which the singer calls "classical and sexy at the same time".

It has a top note of soft apricot, a heart of jasmine, patchouli and rose and a base of vanilla, musk and amber. "I’m so proud of this fragrance," says the Aussie star.

I can't help think that the so called battle between Katie Price and Peter Andre is all pre-meditated. Because if it is, what an oscar winning performance. I tip my hat off to them as it's making them millions.
