Beauty question: does make-up stifle your skin?

Is it true that make-up can block your pores and stop your skin from breathing?

Have you ever worried that using make-up every day may have a bad effect on your skin? Many people believe that the daily use of foundation creams and powders can block pores and have a detrimental effect on skin in the long term.

It's important to remember, though, that throughout the day, impurities from your environment build up on the make-up surface. So, although the make-up itself isn't doing any harm, it's vitally important to choose a cleanser appropriate for your skin type and remove all traces of make-up at the end of the day.
