Rita Ora gets scientific with skincare in Japan

20 MARCH 2013

The Asian beauty market has brought us some of the biggest cult products such as the BB cream and the very best in scientific skincare. Now, there's a new beauty craze from Japan, and pop sensation Rita Ora is a big fan.

Saying "Night Night Tokyo" to her fans after a long day the How We Do singer pouted from beneath her face mask sheet to which she added the tag #facemelt which noted the treatment's comic appearance.

A simple way of giving the skin a quick pick-me-up and spa-like breather without the heavy bill these single-use skincare sheets are all about the convenience.

And for jet-setters like Rita the flat-packaged pouches are the perfect handbag remedy for lacklustre skin.

Most of the sachets are infused with properties to purify, hydrate and protect the skin from the early signs of ageing by using ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, collagen or Q10 and are neatly sealed in a foil pack for one time use.

Combining the refreshing benefits of more common clay or liquid masks they can be applied on the face for between 10-15 minutes and many don't even need to be washed off, making for a mess-free alternative to bottled products.

While being packed full of moisture boosting properties, this at-home spa treatment works most of its magic through osmosis.

As the cool liquid touches the natural heat from the surface these daily facial packs draws the heat away from the skin. The product evaporates to leave the appearance of tighter pores whilst injecting their smoothing serums into the surface for plumper skin and rejuvenated result.
