In the accompanying interview, the British star opened up about her decision release new music after spending a few years away to spend more time with partner Simon Konecki and the couple's son Angelo, confessing she feels she has "lost touch" with the industry.

"But genuinely I've lost touch with music," she said. "Not, like, all music but I feel like I don't know what's going on in the charts and in popular culture. I've not lost touch with, like, reality. Just with what's current."

Adele has made a triumphant return to the spotlight with new single Hello

Just last month Adele delighted fans when she released Hello, which rocketed straight to number one in the charts, selling 165,000 copies in three days and topping the iTunes charts in over 100 countries.

The London-born hitmaker also broke the record for the most viewed video in 24 hours on Vevo, with the song's clip totalling more than 27.7 million views on its first day – smashing Taylor Swift's record of 20.1 million views for Bad Blood earlier this year.

As part of the release of her highly-anticipated upcoming album 25, Adele is also set to perform tracks from the new album for an hour-long BBC special. The world-exclusive show, hosted by Graham Norton, will be the singer's first television performance since the Academy Awards in February 2013.
