Helen Adams is getting used to seeing her face in the papers. She has made the front page almost every day since she left the Big Brother house nearly three weeks ago and has come to the conclusion that the world has gone mad. Much of the frenzy has focused on the progress of her fledgling romance with housemate Paul Clarke, which ignited during their eight weeks together on the programme.

“Me and Paul like each other and fancy each other very much but we’re both under the spotlight at the moment and want to take things slowly,” Helen tells HELLO! during our exclusive shoot at Henlow Grange Health Farm.

Contrary to various reports, Helen and Paul did not enjoy a secret tryst at a London hotel a couple of weeks ago and they certainly haven’t consummated their relationship, as has been suggested. In fact they’ve only seen each other twice - both times in the company of other people - since Paul was waiting for Helen with a pair of Gucci shoes and matching handbag on eviction night.

“I would give anything just to have a normal relationship with Paul but that’s not possible at the moment,” says the 23-year-old hairdresser. “I spoke to Paul the other night and told him I’d have loved more than anything to have met him in the normal way… He said it was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to him.”
