Last year, Jane McDonald and her husband/manager Henrik Brixen were so snowed under with work that they forgot their wedding anniversary.

"We got a text message from our office saying 'Congratulations!' and I said, 'Congratulations on what?' Then we suddenly realised," laughs Jane, who first found fame on TV docusoap The Cruise and has gone on to become a singing star and TV personality.

They certainly made up for it this year with a weekend at the famous Hôtel de la Cité in the medieval walled city of Carcassonne in south- west France.
