It's now more than a year since Kerry Katona (or Kerry McFadden, as she'd rather be called) left Atomic Kitten, yet she still has the air of a girl who has slid breathlessly into the interview room direct from a glossy, pop-babe album cover.

The hair is a hymn to blondeness, the teeth are razzle-dazzle white. The impressive bust – of which she is duly proud – is encased in a tight little T-shirt emblazoned with just one pink, sequined word: FAME.

"Ever since I was a kiddie I've wanted to be famous," she admits. Now it's a case of been there, done that...and got the T-shirt.
