The 24-year-old was the embodiment of impeccable grooming in a full-length champagne-shaded gown featuring all-over pearl beading and a floaty little fishtail. With her honey-coloured locks flowing down over her shoulders, the Texan-born singing sensation wowed the crowd before she even got up on stage.

And she was by no means the only eye-catcher at the glitzy event, which was sponsored by the Swiss jewellery company de Grisogono.

Prince Andrew's ex, Sarah Ferguson, was trim and toned in an emerald green satin number with a dazzling multi-coloured necklace, while tennis champ turned fashion designer Venus Williams had poured herself into a slinky black basque-bodiced dress.

The concert series has made quite a splash on New York's social calendar, pulling in celebrities and corporate guests prepared to pay top dollar to see the big names perform in one of the city's plushest venues.
