There was no question who was the star of the night as talented Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins picked up her album of the year trophy at the Classical Brit Awards on Thursday.
Taking a leaf out of another glamorous blonde's book, the chanteuse was drop-dead gorgeous in her figure-hugging fuchsia gown; a copy of the one Marilyn Monroe wore in her 1953 flick How To Marry A Millionaire. The curvaceous former schoolteacher, who received the honour for her most recent album Living A Dream, didn't need to get hitched in order to flaunt a few rocks, however, as she was sporting £250,000 of Bulgari gems with her £75,000 Kruszyncka dress.
Also looking red-carpet-ready at the Royal Albert Hall ceremony was fellow winner Alison Balsom. Elegant in a white satin fish-tailed gown with fur shrug, the trumpet soloist received her young British classical performer award from the night's host, Michael Parkinson.
While the ladies delivered international glam, the evening's entertainment was similarly high-octane with guests being treated to a series of world exclusive performances by classical giants Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Placido Domingo, who performed a duet with Rolando Villazon.
