After over two decades in the pop business, it's fair to say you don't experience that many "firsts" anymore. So when it came to her inaugural tour of the US, it's understandable Kylie Minogue would be more excited than usual.

"Nerves are buzzing and Kamp Kylie is getting incredibly excited. Oh my goodness," blogged the petit singer, who was this week throwing herself into the final rehearsals before the opening night show.

Judging by the pictures of the California sessions, the 41-year-old singer's US-based fans are in for a treat.

Giving Lady GaGa a run for her money, she looks amazing in one of her stage outfits – an intergalactic, mirrored bustier designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.

Flanked by robotic-looking dancers she sashays around the stage. It's just one small segment of what looks like it's going to be a typically slick Kylie production.

The Aussie popstar's tour kicks off with two dates in California before moving on to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, then into Toronto, Canada. It ends with three gigs in New York.
