Mum-of-two Charlotte Church has revealed how her daughter Ruby suffers from a an alarming condition which causes her to faint.

The singer told how the two-year-old sometimes holds her breath when she has a tantrum, causing her to lose consciousness for up to a minute.

Doctors have informed Charlotte and her rugby player partner Gavin Henson that their toddler suffers from BHS – Breath Holding Spells.

"The first time it happened it was absolutely horrendous," says the 23-year-old. "I took her to hospital and they said some children do this until the age of about three when they grow out of it.

"We've been taught to bring her round by spraying her face with water or blowing on her face.

"Every time it's happened she's been fine afterwards but it causes Gavin and I a lot of worry."

Charlotte, who is also mum to nine-month-old Dexter, shared her experience with mothers at a fundraising drive at a children's hospital in Wales.

The brunette beauty said she was "humbled" to meet some of the children being treated at the hospital, including 22-month-old leukaemia sufferer Hollie Evans.
