11 JANUARY 2010

Katy Perry brought extra sparkle to London's snow-covered streets at the weekend when she debuted her engagement ring from English love Russell Brand.

Passersby were given the very first glimpse of the rock as the happy couple left the comedian's north London home having briefly returned from their festive break.

Romantic Russell popped the question to his 25-year-old girlfriend of four months in Jaipur on New Year's Eve, after whisking her away there for Christmas.

After holidaying in India, the couple then headed over to Thailand to celebrate the big event, before eventually returning to the UK.

But with such happy news to share, they weren't in the British capital long.

Later that day the pair were back at Heathrow for a flight to America to show off the £30,000 two-carat ring - which the US star has said she "adores" all the more since Russell picked it himself - to Katy's family.

Fans will be looking forward to see if the I Kissed A Girl singer posts any pictures of her American break with 34-year-old Russell on her Twitter account.

Katy often shares her personal snaps on the networking site and recently went on to proclaim her feelings for her new fiancé, writing on his page: "I love you".

Read all about Russell's romantic Indian proposal in this week's HELLO! magazine, on sale now.
