One Direction have unveiled the latest item to join the band's ever growing collection of memorabilia. A series of new and improved plastic dolls were given to the quintet before their gig in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson proudly showed off the dolls, which are an updated version of a series of figurines that were released last year.Since hitting the shelves in May 2012 the dolls quickly sold out in the US prompting toy manufacturer Hasbro to release new editions of the plastic lookalikes to the American market.

After meeting their mini lookalikes it was time for the boys, who are currently on their Take Me Home tour, to entertain the sell out crowd at LA's Staples Center. "Los Angeles! Always good to be here! Unbelievable show tonight at the staples center!" Tweeted Niall. "Thank you! Doing it all again tomorrow.""Amazing show today!! Loved it!" added Louis, sharing his bandmate's enthusiasm. "Can't believe we just played the staples centre! Sickkkkkkkkk."

In April Harry, Zayn, Louis, Liam and Niall came face-to-face with another collection of lookalikes when their waxworks were unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London.

The creations were revealed by the iconic museum for the first time in front of a small group of excited fans, who were well placed to deliver the verdict on how alike to their heroes the waxworks really are. "They just look so real, even the hair is styled the right way," said one young fan, while another exclaimed: "This is the closest that I will ever get to kissing Harry Styles!"The group's fans will now no doubt be eager to get their hands on the new collection of dolls, which are only available in the US.
