Adele is quickly becoming America's sweetheart. The songstress, who won a Grammy for her James Bond theme Skyfall, will be taking another star-studded trip to the states to perform at First Lady Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday celebrations, according to reports.

Famed for her blockbuster album 21, the award-winning singer has taken the States by storm, where her platinum-selling album stayed in the top slot of the US charts for weeks. Her success didn't go unnoticed, however, and the the Billboard charts later crowned the Someone Like You hitmaker America's artist of the year in 2012. It seems that America's political wife is keen to get the performer booked as quickly as possible for her landmark celebrations, which will take place in January 2014.

And if the First Lady's birthday celebrations weren’t already impressive enough, Michelle has topped the bill and invited Beyonce to also showcase her talent at the deluxe bash. The star, who has already performed for the First family at Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony, shares a close friendship with her political allies. Recently speaking about Michelle, Beyonce declared the First Lady the perfect role model for her daughter, Blue Ivy. "Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that you do for us — I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to," said the singer in an open letter to the Obama family.

The family also responded in kind, declaring that Beyonce was nothing short of inspirational. "To J and B, thank you so much for your friendship. Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls," said Barack. Although she has taken time out to celebrate the arrival of her son baby Angelo, Adele is expected to be back on musical form later on this year. Speaking at the Grammys about her latest album, the singer admitted that the project was still very much a work in progress. "I'm not very far along," she said. "I've been having lots of meetings … I've been out the loop, really." With arguably the two biggest performers of the world at her party, Michelle’s birthday bash will be the place to be.
