One Direction's Niall Horan now has a mega-watt smile to match his superstar status. The singer, 19, has had his braces removed and showed off a before and after picture on his Twitter account. The image shows a straighter, whiter smile that would be worthy of Hollywood. Niall was clearly excited to be getting a new look and tweeted updates to his ten million Twitter followers. "Morning. ! This is it ! I'm goin to the dentist! I think this is my last hour with braces! Oh how I'm gona miss them ! Naaaaaaat !," he wrote.

The teen had his braces fixed in December in 2011, shortly after One Direction's debut single What Makes You Beautiful soared to the top of the UK Singles Chart, starting the pop phenomenon that is now sweeping through the world.

All five boys – including Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson – are currently on the UK leg of their Take Me Home world tour.  On Wednesday, iconic museum Madame Tussauds released images showing how the famous five's sculptures are coming along. Artists were shown crafting the group's features with painstaking care.

In March, it was revealed that the boys would be immortalised in the famous museum. Since then, One Direction have been closely involved in the creative process and had two sittings for their waxworks, which each cost £150,000 to make. Harry Styles was overwhelmed at the idea of being immortalised alongside his bandmates. "We've been to Madame Tussauds and seen the kind of people who are in there. It's crazy to think that we will be up there with them," he said back in March.

Zayn Malik agreed saying, "All the biggest stars in the world get these wax figures made of them and why are we, five normal lads, getting these made?". The band make their debut at Madame Tussauds London on 18 April.

They will be sat on a school-style double bench so fans will be able to sit down and get up close and personal – with 1D's wax figures at least.
