While forced by illness to reassess her workload, there was one project the singer was determined to see through while recuperating - her children's book The Showgirl Princess. Launched in September, it is a behind-the-scenes look at a day on tour inspired by her youngest fans. "Some of the pictures they sent me were so funny," she says. "In some of them I looked like Marge Simpson, because the big blue-feathered headdress I wore on tour looked more like her hair. We all thought we had to do something with these wonderful images."
And there are other projects in the pipeline. November also marks the launch of Darling, Kylie's first venture onto the perfume scene. The singer, who has been working on the project for three years, reportedly took a very hands-on approach to creating the scent, which reflects both her personality and her Antipodean heritage with notes of Australian sandalwood, star fruit, freesia and Boronia flower. Its appearance represents "a fulfilling moment" for the former Neighbours star who says that after "months and months where I couldn't do anything" these days everything seems to be happening at once.
