Famous for: playing party animal Frank Gallagher in hit British TV show Shameless
Manchester-born David Threlfall got his first taste of acting when he was encouraged by his teachers to take the lead in a school production of The Crucible. Having developed talent through a stint with a Manchester theatre group he made his TV debut in 1977 opposite London hard-man Ray Winstone in Scum. Since then David has been a regular on the small screen, with appearances in the likes of Cutting It and Spooks. Although perhaps best known for his portrayal of party-loving Frank in Shameless, David is a notable Shakespearean actor and starred in a 1984 TV version of King Lear opposite screen legend Laurence Olivier. David has also notched up several notable silver screen appearances, among them Patriot Games alongside Harrison Ford, and the Russell Crowe vehicle Master And Commander. He's married to Shameless co-star Brana Bajic, with whom he has two children.
