Silvana Franco

Brought up in Derby, Silvana owes her passion for food to the good home cooking of her Italian family. After training as a chef, she began her career as a magazine writer before moving into TV as a food stylist on Ainsley Harriott's Can't Cook, Won't Cook. But it wasn't long before her bright personality landed her a job on the other side of the camera. Following appearances on Gourmet Express 2, Saturday Kitchen and Ready Steady Cook, Silvana began hosting BBC Two's cookery show The Best. She has since appeared on This Morning, Good Food Live and GMTV, as well as published several books. The co-founder of food media company Fork with two former colleagues, she lives in London with her husband Rob and son Fabio.
