The London-born star has carved out a solid big screen career since making his debut in Steven Spielberg's 1997 epic Amistad, and garnering rave reviews for 2002's Dirty Pretty Things. In 2004, he teamed up with Spike Lee and Woody Allen, as well as signing on for two other Hollywood projects – Slow Burn alongside Ray Liotta and Red Dust with Hilary Swank. Small screen credits include The Knight's Tale and Trust.
