Meera Syal

A multi-talented star with a knack for comedy, Meera is one of Britain's most popular entertainers. The author of several books, including Anita And Me, she also wrote the screenplay for the acclaimed film Bhaji On The Beach. Her TV career kicked off with The Real McCoy in 1991, but it was the fantastic Asian comedy sketch show Goodness Gracious Me which she co-wrote and starred in that made her famous. She's also acted in a wide range of dramas such as Band Of Gold, Soldier Soldier and lately MIT: Murder Investigation Team.
