How does working on Family Affairs compare to EastEnders?
"Family Affairs is much more fun because the character is fantastic to play. Cat is very funny, and always getting into trouble. Debbie was a simpering wimp and extremely boring!"
Is it true you grew up in Malta and, if so, what was it like?
"I didn't grow up in Malta. My father was a Commander in the Royal Navy and I have lived in Ghana, Singapore and Malta. I went to boarding school in England and only went home during the holidays."
You lost over a stone on Celebrity Fit Club - what will you remember most about the experience?
"Being on Celebrity Fit Club was great fun, although I didn't really take it very seriously. The thing I remember most about being on Fit Club was being shouted at by Harvey. I also absolutely dreaded being weighed and I felt really guilty for putting on 2lbs in one month as I was doing it for my charity, The Alzheimer's Trust."
Cat has had a turbulent life, to say the least. Can you give us a hint as to what the future holds for her?
"Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to reveal future storylines. However it would be great if she could be a bit nasty again… she's turning into a goody two shoes!"
Besides Family Affairs, what are your favourite TV programmes and why?
"I'm enjoying The Bill at the moment, and getting into the private lives of the coppers. Desperate Housewives is a great new show - the acting and scripts are excellent. David Dickinson in Bargain Hunt always makes me laugh and I'm completely addicted to Pimp My Ride on MTV.
What is your most prized possession and why?
"My family are my most prized possession… god, how sickly! Oh, and my house, but not my garden, so if anyone fancies giving it a makeover then I'm open to offers!"
You vowed to quit smoking last year - have you managed to stay a non-smoker?
"No! I gave up for three weeks and then, after having teenage daughter problems, I started again. I'm disgusted with myself, it's a filthy habit - I'd like to try and give up again but I'm not ready just yet."
What made you want to become an actress?
"I've wanted to be an actress from the age of two and I loved taking part in school plays. I'm also a great big show off and serious attention seeker so acting suits me perfectly!"
What is the toughest role you've ever had to play?
"Debbie in EastEnders has to be the toughest, simply because she was so nice, unassuming and shy - very unlike me!"
What is your idea of a perfect day?
"I'm a slob, so my idea of a perfect day would be lying in bed with my boyfriend, eating lots and watching movies. I'd only get up to go to the toilet and to stock up on more food and drink!"
