His mum, Brookside actress Sue Jenkins, always knew Richard had a vocal range to rival Robbie Williams, but it wasn't until the teen pin-up won TV talent show Soapstar Superstar in 2006 that the public got to hear his fabulous voice. When the programme ended the self-taught pianist and guitarist - who is best known as Coronation Street's troubled goth Craig Harris - was inundated with offers from record companies. Eventually he settled on a role in West End musical Over Here!, but hasn't ruled out a return to the Street.
