Since 1992, Tricia Penrose has juggled her role as Heartbeat's bubbly landlady Gina Ward with her other passion - music. As a teenager she used to accompany mum Sue on the cabaret circuit of their native Liverpool. The performer has produced two singles - one a cover of The Supremes hit Where Did Our Love Go? - and an album, Mesmerised. And at one point Tricia even had a record deal with Simon Cowell. The warm Scouse actress shares her life with husband actor Mark Simpkin and their son Jake, who was born in 2003.
