The Prince of Wales, who cut short his ski holiday to attend a mass in honour of the late Pope John Paul II on Monday, has continued with his official duties as his wedding day approaches.
In stark contrast to Monday's sombre images, where the Prince was seen bowing his head with emotion, Charles broke into a cheerful smile as he mingled with Bhutanese monks at the consecration service of the Stupa, a Buddhist monument at Harewood House. Young girls in colourful dress showered the heir to the throne with rose petals as he arrived for the ceremony, held at the historic home of the Queen’s cousin, the Earl of Harewood.
Prince Charles has a full agenda in the run-up to his wedding, to be held Saturday at 12.30pm at Windsor Guildhall. On Thursday, he will meet staff and visitors at the London Breast Cancer Haven in his role as patron for the organisation, while on Friday he will be in Rome to attend the funeral of the Pope. |
