Spain's future queen was looking characteristically chic as she celebrated her 33rd birthday on Thursday. Crown Princess Letizia, who is expecting her first child in November, marked her anniversary by joining husband Felipe for a visit to the Royal Spanish Academy in Madrid.

The former newsreader, a picture of elegance in a white jacket and spotted camisole, has proved she has a real flair for smart maternity combinations as her November due date approaches.

Princess Mathilde of Belgium, who is currently looking forward to the arrival of her third child, was equally elegant in a zingy orange jacket when she attended a seminar to promote information technology for disabled youngsters.
The people of Denmark were meanwhile breathing a sigh of relief after enormously popular Crown Princess Mary was released from hospital. The 33-year-old, who is due to give birth to her first baby in six weeks time, was rushed to hospital after experiencing early contractions on Tuesday night. Doctors at Rigshospital in Copenhagen decided to keep her in for observation as a precaution, but she has now been given the green light to return home. |
