The Duchess of Cornwall, who is earning something of a reputation for her eye-catching hats, was turning heads once again at the weekend. Prince Charles' wife got an enthusiastic thumbs-up from the fashion police for the broad-rimmed, feathered number she wore to an unveiling ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

Camilla was at her husband's side as he introduced a new sculpture paying tribute to the pilots who defended their homeland from Nazi invasion during the Battle of Britain. For the special event, the 58-year-old Duchess complemented her elegant headdress with a sharply-cut navy blue coat and matching handbag.
The striking hat she chose for Sunday's appearance is obviously one of her favourites - she also wore it to celebrations marking the end of World War II back in July.
Her visit to Victoria Embankment marked the latest in a series of occasions in which she has worn designs by Irish milliner Philip Treacy. The fashion maestro also provided the Duchess with headwear for her wedding day, Royal Ascot and a recent Buckingham Palace garden party.
And it would seem her fondness for the designer is reciprocated, because he has been singing her praises of late. "She's letting me make the sort of hats I love," he said. "She is the dream client for me."
The Prince of Wales likewise cut a dashing figure on Sunday as he was sporting his Air Marshal's uniform. After meeting with some of the elderly airmen who managed to thwart Hitler's plans to invade the UK, he paid a heartfelt tribute to their bravery. "The pilots were so very young, many even younger than my sons are now," he said. "For me, this make their sacrifice even more poignant." |
