In a rare interview to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Prince Harry has said the Duke of Edinburgh is still her rock.

"Regardless of whether my grandfather seems to be doing his own thing, sort of wandering off like a fish down the river, the fact that he's there – personally, I don't think that she could do it without him," he said, before confessing that his grandmother's heavy workload concerns him.

He and Prince William were speaking to journalist Andrew Marr for a documentary, and the chat has appeared in the latest edition of the Radio Times. The second in line to the throne, who is particularly close to their grandmother, discussed how she balances the "very tricky line" between her professional and private personas and has blazed her own trail.

"I think she's carved her own way completely. She's not had a blueprint " he said. "I think it's very important to be able to retreat inside and be able to collect one's thoughts and collect your ideas, and then to move forward. "William also revealed that the Queen - one of the most well-known personalities in the world - "doesn't care for celebrity" and cherishes her privacy.
