Britain's finest give the torch a scorching welcome to London
After an epic journey spanning 69 days and involving thousands of inspirational people, the Olympic flame has finally arrived home.On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge led the party as thousands of people turned out to watch the torch heat up the capital.
Famous faces mingled with the crowds, and the electric atmosphere gave a taste of what lies in store for Friday's opening ceremony.
The young royals beamed as torchbearer Wai-Ming handed over the honour to John Hulse, a mountain rescue team leader, at Buckingham Palace.
Wai-Ming, from Map Action, which provides assistance in areas hit by natural disasters, was nominated by Prince Harry.
