Date revealed for Prince Felix's wedding to fiancée Claire Lademacher

22 APRIL 2013

Luxembourg's Grand Ducal Palace has revealed the date of Prince Felix's wedding to his German fiancée Claire Lademacher.

An official statement released on Monday says the couple will marry in a civil ceremony to be held on 17 September in the German town of Königstein. The area is near the bride's home town of Frankfurt.

A few days later, there will be another celebration as the pair wed in a religious ceremony to be held at the Sainte Marie-Madeleine de Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume basilica in the South of France.

The second location is an hour's car ride from the Grand Ducal family's holiday home, near Bormes-les-Mimosas.

Prince Felix, who is the second son of Grand Duke Henri and his wife Maria Teresa, will wed just a year after his brother Prince Guillaume married Countess Stephanie de Lannoy in a lavish double ceremony.

Their younger siblings include Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Prince Sebastien, all of whom played a key role in Guillaume's big day and will doubtless do the same for Felix and his bride-to-be.

German-born Claire is an heiress who grew up near Frankfurt. Her father, Hartmut Lademacher, is worth an estimated €600 million and garnered his fortune thanks to savvy investments in the software industry.

The pretty brunette's history with Felix dates back to their student days at Beau Soleil boarding school, a prestigious institution nestled in the stunning valleys of Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland.

The pair also read Bioethics in Rome, where they spent a lot of time studying together and getting to know one another in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Felix and Claire are not the only young royals preparing to wed. Princess Madeleine of Sweden will marry her financier partner Chris O'Neill this summer, and Monegasque royal Andrea Casiraghi will also tie the knot with heiress Tatiana Santo Domingo.
