Prince Harry can't wait to meet his 'absolutely beautiful' niece

The new Princess of Cambridge received several visitors on her first day at Kensington Palace, but there is a special someone miles away who can't wait to meet her.According to the Palace, Prince Harry has said that his new niece is "absolutely beautiful" and he "can't wait to meet her."

Prince William's younger brother is currently in Australia on secondment to the Australian Army.

On Saturday Harry was given the news of the happy arrival during a day out in Perth, where he was attending an Australian Rules Football match, and he showed his joy by smiling broadly from the stands throughout the game.

It is thought that Harry will not be able to meet his niece until he arrives back in the UK later this month.

Despite Harry's absense, however, there were plenty of doting relatives keen to meet the little Princess of Cambridge on Sunday.New grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton and Prince Charles and Camilla were seen arriving at Kensington Palace around midday.The joyful party were soon joined by one of William and Kate's long-time friends Emilia Jardine-Paterson, who is godmother to Prince George.

Proud grandma Carole understandably can't stay away from her adorable new granddaughter. The Duchess of Cambridge's mother, who is believed to have held the fort and looked after Prince George on Saturday while Kate was giving birth with Prince William by her side, was spotted returning to Kensington Palace to spend some more quality time with the new arrival.Carole Middleton was not alone in the car; excited new aunty Pippa Middleton, 31, sat in the passenger seat and shortly after their arrival, Michael Middleton was spotted driving into the Palace too.

The new parents are yet to reveal the name of their baby girl but have instead expressed their gratitude for all the well wishes received from around the world."The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world," read a statement from the couple posted on Twitter. "It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter."
