The Duchess of Cambridge played the role of supportive big sister as she visited Pippa Middleton at home on Thursday. Kate was spotted leaving her younger sibling's house in West London where the sisters no doubt discussed last-minute wedding plans. Pippa, 33, is set to tie the knot with her fiancé James Matthews, 41, in six weeks. The Duchess kept it casual for her low-key visit, wearing a white cable knit jumper, her favourite black skinny jeans and a pair of white shoes. The sisters' mother Carole Middleton had visited Pippa the day before with milliner Stephen Jones.

Last week, Kate and her husband Prince William were invited to dinner at Pippa and James' home. The mum-of-two was her elegant self in a knee-length floral dress and swept her hair back into a ponytail for the evening do. James' parents David Matthews and Jane Parker, and his Made in Chelsea star brother Spencer Matthews, were also reportedly in attendance, as was Pippa's brother James Middleton.

While details of the wedding are being kept under wraps, HELLO! has previously revealed that James and Pippa will say 'I do' on Saturday 20 May. The couple have chosen to marry at St Marks' Church in Englefield, Berkshire – a Grade I-listed country church that dates back to the 13th century. The couple have asked Rev. Nick Wynne-Jones, resident priest at St Mark's, to officiate.

The sisters are extremely close, although Kate is not expected to be maid of honour

The reception will be held back at the Middletons' family home in Bucklebury, seven miles away. The beautiful 18 acres are the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding reception. Michael and Carole Middleton's estimated £5.6million, seven-bedroom Berkshire property has ample grounds to accommodate a luxurious marquee, screened by surrounding woodland and fields.

It is believed that Kate, 35, will play a pivotal role on the day, but she will most likely not be the maid of honour for fear of stealing the spotlight from the bride. Used to public speaking, she may do a reading during the service. Meanwhile, it's believed that her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte will act as page boy or ring-bearer, and flower girl, respectively.
