Kate Middleton will spend her first six weeks of motherhood at her parents' house, her uncle Gary Goldsmith has confirmed. "The fact that they're taking the baby to Carole's for the first six weeks is genius," said the Duchess of Cambridge's uncle Gary in an interview with the Telegraph. Gary, Carole Middleton's younger brother, spoke proudly of his big sister. "Carole's a brilliant mum – she is 10 years older than me and practised on me – and I think it's the right thing to do. It will take the pressure off Kate."

The 47-year-old business man had nothing but praise for his relatives. "Kate's doing brilliantly in that role. She’s made the Royal family more accessible. And you throw a baby into that mix – they’re going to do it fabulously. "You just know that the baby is going to be introduced to the public fantastically well." We reported in April that Kate would break from royal tradition by taking her and Prince William's newborn baby to the Middleton's family home in Berkshire. Kate, who is around eight months pregnant, will move home to the quaint village of Upper Bucklebury as she adjusts to her role as a new mum. After giving birth around mid-July, the 31-year-old will move from hospital to her parents' £4.85million Georgian home and spend around six weeks there without a maternity nurse, as has previously been royal tradition. "Kate just feels safest and most secure" when she's with her family, a source told the Daily Mail. Kate, who is very close to Carole and Michael, broke with royal tradition late last year when she and husband William chose to spend Christmas at the Middleton family home, rather than at the Queen's Sandringham Estate.

Situated in the countryside, the secluded house will give the royal couple and their newborn more privacy and having Carole, who also has daughter Pippa Middleton and son James Middleton, around will provide new-mum Kate with invaluable support. After spending the first few weeks as a mum in her hometown, Kate is expected to return to her and William's London base, Nottingham Cottage which is in the grounds of Kensington Palace. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be planning a modest nursery for their new arrival. "They have a small nursery prepped," a source told US Weekly. "But it's humble. Kate felt it wasn't worth the money to go all-out." The couple, who married in April 2011, are expected to move in to Apartment 1A of Kensington Palace later this year. They are also currently renovating Amner Hall at Sandringham in Norfolk. Kate has been spotted buying furniture and accessories for her baby. The duchess was spotted shopping with her mother at a London boutique in April, leaving with a moses basket. Earlier in the month, Kate, 31, revealed that she and William still had "a lot to do" with regard to their nursery.Read Gary Goldsmith's exclusive interview with HELLO!Read the latest Kate Middleton news
