There is one fundamental difference between Andrea’s and Wills' positions: William's accession to the throne of England is all but certain, while the 19-year-old Grimaldi's is just a possibility.
Andrea is currently third in line, after his mother Caroline, but will fall in the rankings if his uncle, the current heir to the throne Prince Albert, changes his bachelor ways and starts a family.
Wills is unconditionally second in line to the throne. When his father Prince Charles becomes King, William will take over his title of Prince of Wales.
