And it's not just crown princesses who are bringing babies into European royal circles these days.
Princess Claire of Belgium, who is wed to Prince Laurent, is expecting a double helping of baby joy with twins, while Prince Johan Friso and Princess Mabel of the Netherlands have already presented Countess Luana, born in London on March 26, to grandmother Queen Beatrix for the first time.
June was a banner month for royal baby news, with the latest addition to Norway's royal family, Leah Isadora – Princess Martha Louise and Ari Behn's infant daughter – christened in the royal palace chapel. Father-of-four Prince Pavlos of Greece and wife Princess Marie-Chantal also baptised nine-month-old son Odysseas Kimon, in an Athens church.
Four seemed to be a lucky number for quite a few royals. Infanta Cristina of Spain, who already had three sons with husband Iñaki Urdangarin, welcomed her first daughter, Irene. And Queen Rania of Jordan's brood is now a quartet, after she and husband King Abdullah welcomed a second son, Prince Hashem.
