Denmark is already gearing up for what promises to be the biggest celebration in its history. The festivities, which take place over several days, begin with a state dinner at Christianborg Palace on Tuesday, May 11, followed by another lavish function at the Copenhagen Town Hall hosted by the city's mayor. The country's leading politicians are also intent on feting the couple, mounting another banquet on the morning of May 13 in the Parliament buildings. That evening, on the eve of their big day, Frederik and Mary are to attend a gala performance at the Royal Theatre. The biggest party of them all, however, will of course be staged immediately after the wedding ceremony. |
