||A brief stint on Broadway led to TV work and then a move to Hollywood to pursue a film career. Here she scored her breakthrough opposite Gary Cooper in 1952's High Noon. She went on to pick up an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Mogambo and took home a best actress Oscar for The Country Girl the following year. As famed director Alfred Hitchcock’s platinum blonde muse, she became a silver screen icon in To Catch A Thief, Dial M For Murder and Rear Window.
It was while filming To Catch A Thief in Monaco in 1955 that Grace met future husband Prince Rainier. After a whirlwind romance, the pair were wed and, as Princess Grace of Monaco, she ended her 11-film, six-year career.
