CHARLES AND CAMILLA

The Queen is more than happy to attend Charles and Camilla's blessing at St George's Chapel and sees it as far more signifcant than a registry wedding
The royal attitude to divorce may have improved since the days of the abdication but it is something the Queen is still clearly uneasy with, despite her attendance at Anne's remarriage. She is more than happy to attend the blessing in St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. As a deeply spiritual woman and head of the Church of England, this part of the day will be regarded by the Queen as far more significant than a register office ceremony.

Naturally, she will be concerned about the damage the remarriage of the heir to the throne has done to the monarchy. At the same time, though, she will relieved that Camilla's position in Charles's life has been formally recognised by the Church and the law before he becomes King.
