It's a philosophy which governs all areas of their lives. Peter undertakes no official duties, and the couple stress they are very normal people who "work full time, enjoy our weekends and get on with our lives like anybody else".

It was originally believed Peter would be called upon to renounce his claim to the throne after marriage, as his bride-to-be was baptised in the Catholic faith. Just two weeks ahead of the nuptials it emerged this would not be necessary, as Autumn had quietly converted to the Church of England.
