YACHT CHAMP FELIPE
Unsurprisingly, given their coastal-fringed homeland, a love of the sea seems to run in the veins of Spain's royal family. Every summer Crown Prince Felipe takes to the waves in the Copa del Rey yachting championship in the waters off Majorca, often doing battle against his father King Juan Carlos, who is also an enthusiastic sailor. The prince usually takes the helm of the Cam, while his dad skippers a Transpac 52 named Bribon.

Felipe's international yachting career goes back to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when like his father before him he competed as a member of the Spanish team. His crew came in sixth in their category and Felipe took home an Olympic diploma, which goes to those who make it through to the last eight in the contest.
