An estimated 1,300 invitations have been sent out for Spain's wedding of the century
|In March, the royal family began sending out the 1,300 sought-after wedding invitations, which consisted of three different cards: one from the parents of Letizia Ortiz, another for the wedding banquet, signed by the king and queen, and a third, for the religious ceremony, issued by the royal palace.
Although sources close to the Palace say the official guest list won't be released until the last minute, talk about town in Madrid includes a few names from the 40 royal houses which will most certainly be invited to attend the nuptials.
Though Princess Caroline and her husband Ernst of Hanover don't often attend royal weddings, it is said their presence is expected, along with that of Caroline's brother Prince Albert, as Ernst is a relative of Spain's Queen Sofia. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, a close friend of King Juan Carlos, is also among the likely guests.
