While many royal brides keep their wedding gowns – the identity of the designer included – top secret until the wedding day, Spain's princess-to-be revealed early on that a Barcelona-based couture legend would be creating her dress.
In what the royal palace has called a "personal decision" by the former TV newsreader, Manuel Pertegaz is the man charged with creating Letizia's ensemble for the historic nuptials. The 86-year-old couturier, who has dressed some of the world's best-known fashion icons, from Audrey Hepburn to Jacqueline Onassis, has already provided a few clues as to what his confection will look like.
